Some skills, such as Open lock and Heal, allow a Take 20 when not in combat. This means the skill check rolls an automatic 20.

This is different from take 10, which is only a guaranteed roll of 10 (which means random rolls could technically be higher)

Note: In NWN1, a character disabling traps out of combat could take 20. That has been removed in NWN2 to reflect the always dangerous activity of tinkering with traps.
