Description[]
You create a cloud that paralyzes any creatures inside of it, encasing them in stone for 1d6 rounds.
Bug Notes[]
- Immunity to mind-affecting spells grants immunity to this spell. The immunity to mind-affecting spells is hard-coded into the EffectParalyze function and cannot be fixed, even if you fix both the spell script and spells.2da entry. As such, immunity to mind-affecting spells grants immunity to ALL spells that use this effect - Ghoul Touch, Stonehold, Hold Person/Monster/Animal.
- The saving throw check is Fortitude based.
- Upon a failed save, the paralysis duration doesn't get renewed. Thus a creature, that fails the save on first round will lose the paralysis effect after 1d6 rounds, even if it fails every save up to that round. Or put otherwise, a creature that never makes the save will still get let loose every 1d6 rounds for one round.
- There is no "Paralyze" descriptor in game. That said, Stonehold is similar to various "Hold X" spells in that it is blocked by immunity to mind-affecting effects yet its saving throws are neutral. It is possible that "Paralyze" descriptor was intended to mark such spells but was ultimately discarded.
