The movement rate of a creature determines how fast it can travel. Each creature has two base movement rates - one for walking and one for running.
With the exception of the Gray Orc (which receives the long gait feat for a 10% movement speed increase) all player characters have the same movement rate, regardless of race.
Listed in increasing order of speed, the following movement rate increases stack with each other:
- Dash: (no other prerequisites) +5%
- Long Gait: (Gray Orcs) +10%
- Fast Movement: (Barbarian level 1 or Cleric with Travel domain) +10%
- Frantic Reactions: (Neverwinter Nine) +10%
- Woodland Stride: (Druid 2, Ranger 7, Clerics w/Plant domain) +10% in outdoor, natural environments
- Sacred Speed: (Sacred Fist) +10% [at level 3] to +30% [at level 8]
- Monk Speed: (Monks) +10% [at level 3] to +50% [at level 18]
- Haste: (various sources) +50% (does not stack with Expeditious Retreat or other Haste-like sources)
- Expeditious Retreat: +50% (does not stack with Haste or other Haste-like sources)
Gameplay Notes[]
An increased movement rate may be an effective defense against undetected opponents with high stealth
