Ghast

 

 

 

"This foul creature appears more or less humanoid, but has mottled, decaying flesh drawn tight across clearly visible bones. It is mostly hairless and has a carnivore's sharp teeth. Its eyes burn like hot coals in their sunken sockets."

More deadly and cunning than their lesser kin, the Ghoul. Ghasts have a particularly noxious stench.

Notes[]

  • Can be summoned with Summon Undead used by level 5-6 Pale Master (bug - should work like Create Undead).
  • Before patch 1.22 it was also summoned by Create Undead spell at caster levels 12-13.

Summoned ghast[]

A much stronger ghast can be summoned by Create Undead spell:

  • Undead 11
  • Chaotic evil
  • Abilities: STR 18, DEX 18, CON 10, INT 13, WIS 14, CHA 16
  • Hit Points: 143
  • Saves: Fortitide 3, Reflex 7, Will 9
  • AC: 18
  • AB: +9/+4
  • Damage:
    • 1d6+4 slashing, critical 20/x2, on hit: on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16, disease Ghoul Fever - fortitude vs DC 18, 1d6 strength and constitution damage (bite)
    • 1d4+4 slashing/piercing, critical 20/x2, on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16 (claw)
    • 1d4+4 slashing/piercing, critical 20/x2, on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16 (claw)
  • Skills: Hide 5, Listen 3, Move Silently 5, Spot 6
  • Feats: Weapon Proficiency (creature), Toughness, Multiattack, Darkvision
  • Immunity to disease, critical hits, death magic, level/ability drain, mind-affecting spells, paralysis, poison, sneak attacks
  • Turn resistance 2
  • Ghast Stench at caster level 4 once per day
  • CR 11

Ghast (King of Shadows)[]

Army of the KIng of Shadows used it's own kind of special ghasts:

  • Undead 12
  • Chaotic evil
  • Abilities: STR 17, DEX 17, CON 10, INT 13, WIS 14, CHA 16
  • Hit Points: 84
  • Saves: Fortitide 4, Reflex 7, Will 10
  • AC: 17
  • AB: +9/+4/-1
  • Damage:
    • 1d4+3 slashing/piercing, critical 20/x2, on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16 (claw)
    • 1d4+3 slashing/piercing, critical 20/x2, on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16 (claw)
    • 1d6+3 slashing, critical 20/x2, on hit: on hit: stun for 2 rounds, will vs 16, disease Ghoul Fever - fortitude vs DC 18, 1d6 strength and constitution damage (bite)
  • Skills: Listen 3, Spot 3
  • Weapon Proficiency (creature), Toughness, Multiattack, Darkvision

Notes[]

  • Despite higher HD and CR, this ghast is overall inferior to the one PCs can summon. It also strangely lacks Ghast Stench.
