This spell has a duration shorter than that listed in the spell description. It is 3 minutes + 1 minute / 2 caster levels.
Known bugs[]
When this spell is cast on summoned associates, this can have all kinds of weird consequences, consider the following scenarios:
- A spellcaster summons an associate and an enemy spellcaster dominates this associate. The original spellcaster then casts Greater Restoration on the dominated creature and removes the domination effect. This will, however, NOT return the summoned associate to the original faction. The summon remains friendly with the enemy spellcaster and hostile with its original summoner, but the dominator loses control of the summon (it will still attack its former summoner and be friendly with the dominator faction, but you cannot control it any longer, as it is no longer in the party list).
- A spellcaster summons an associate, an enemy spellcaster dominates the associate. The summoner is killed, the domination effect wears off, at which point the dominated summon becomes a PERSISTENT object in the area, it will not be unsummoned, nor will it become hostile towards the dominator, instead, it changes to Neutral faction and will just stand around in the area for the rest of the game.
