Some classes rely mostly upon combat. However, this does not proclude them from also being spellcasters. It just means that their focus is mostly on combat and less on spellcasting.
Combat ability[]
Each combat class typically relies on a different style of combat. The combat styles are affected by two main attributes, Strength and Dexterity. While these combat styles are not restricted to any particular class or prestige, the typical classes that use that particular method are shown on the table. Some classes, such as the Fighter, can utilize any of these combat styles effectively. Others, such as the Bard, favor one style over all of the others. Again, while the table lists the most common classes to utilize a particular style of combat, any class can be built around any particular combat style.

* The use of Dexterity by this combat feat involves the use of the Weapon Finesse feat. This allows the combatant to use their Dexterity bonus instead of Strength to their Attack Bonus for the purposes of hitting the opponent. However, damage dealt is still based upon Strength.
