Adamantine is an ultrahard metal that adds to the quality of a weapon or suit of armor. Weapons fashioned from adamantine have a natural ability to bypass damage reduction on Iron Golems and certain spells. They also have a +2 magical damage bonus. Armor and shields made from adamantine grants its wearer damage reduction of 1/- if it’s light armor or shield, 2/- if it’s medium armor or heavy shield, and 3/- if it’s heavy armor or tower shield.
Only weapons, armor, and shields normally made of metal can be fashioned from adamantine.
Notes[]
- Crafting an item from adamantine adds +15 to its crafting DC.
- The bonuses from adamantine shield and armor do not stack with each other, or natural DR from a class.
- Adamantine bonus properties take one available enchantment slot
- Due to a bug, adamantine shields confer no damage reduction. This is because all adamantine shields list damage reduction as "DR x/" (without the hyphen) instead of "DR x/-". The result is these shields are missing the type of damage to which they have a reduction and, therefore, no DR effect because everything penetrates.
